Rigging Assist Hooks Part 2

Continuing on from the last post, its now time to attach the hook and kevlar to a solid ring. A split ring is then used to connect the assist hook (via the solid ring) and jig to the main line via a swivel. I like this type of setup as it allows the hook, jig or leader to be changed quickly and neatly with minimal risk of something opening up, if done right.

This part is easy too, and the reason why it looks like alot of steps is because I've really broken it down into really simple steps.
*NOTE: I'm going to use a split ring here in substitute of a solid ring for illustration purposes - its just much larger and easier to see.

STEP 1: Thread Kevlar through ring. Told you it wasn't that hard.

--
STEP 2: Loop the Kevlar through the ring once more.

--
STEP 3: Now loop the end around the original leg of Kevlar once as in the following two pictures:

--
STEP 4: Now do a second loop. To finish it off, thread the tag end through the original two loops where the split ring sits. I think the picture describes this alot better.

--
STEP 5: Tighten with pliers.

--
STEP 6: Cut tag end off, burn, squish, and done! Time to go out and catch fish....
